Many places in Sheffield are receptive to vegans. Here are some establishments recommended as being particularly good for vegans.  Please email to let  us know of more.

New possibililtes are popping up all the time and we can't guarantee or even suggest that this page is up to date.

These venues have websites of course, but the sheffield vegans website dates from very early days when they didn't! You can of course easily find the websites for yourself so please do so and send a brief review if you have time.

Very close to the Town Hall, on the way to The Moor, there are at least 3 take-aways where you can get a vegan snack - virtually opposite the Town Hall there's Nourish ('Fast Food with a Conscience' - a couple of savouries are marked 'vegan') and there's the Real Pasty Shop, where I've been told the wholemeal veg pasties are vegan.  Then a little further along there's Fanoush for fabulous falafel (also on London Road, see below).  Then there's Soya Express close by on Union Street, where you can buy fresh made tofu and soya milk and eat in or take away hot tasty meals at very reasonable prices.
Also on Union St (18-20) is the inspiring Union St, a social enterprise centre which has a Pop Up Cafe serving excellent coffee (soya milk) fairly traded from Esteli in Nicaragua, twinned with Sheffield since 1986. Vegan snacks are often available and packeted beans and ground coffee can be purchased.

In the new-ish Market on the Moor, there's Hungry Buddha that does Nepalese thali, and they try to offer 2 veg options a day, 1 of which is vegan. A contributor to this website ate there recently (November 2016) and he tells us that both of the veg curries on offer were vegan, using vegetable oil rather than ghee.

In the other direction, Pizza Express on St Paul's Place and on Devonshire street now does a vegan pizza, marked as such on the menu.
